How to View Live Cams on Your TV

Check out the instructions below to learn how to stream these live cams to your television.

Watching Live Cams on TV

Watching the live cams on your TV is a load of fun (especially the feeds with sound)! You can view directly or use your TV to set a background vibe! The setup process is fairly simple. Although there are many ways to accomplish this, we will focus on a specific, inexpensive (< $40) option – using a Chromecast device.

Note: Some smart TVs already have a Chromecast-like casting option. Try the steps below before purchasing a Chromecast.

To get going, first purchase a Chromecast device (link). Follow the instructions for installing the device on your television.

Next Steps:

  • Pull up the live cam of your choice on your phone or computer.
  • Play the live cam.
  • Look for the cast symbol at the bottom right of the video stream (you may have to hover your mouse or tap the video window).
  • Tap or click the icon and you should see a list of available devices. With luck your Chromecast device is displaying. Select it.

That's it! If you don't see the cast symbol, try clicking the YouTube label towards the bottom-right of the video. This will take you to the page on YouTube. If your casting is set up properly, you should definitely see the symbol at this point.
